We are specifically looking for sets of two samples collected the same day: one storm drain or gutter and one stream or beach. Ideally they would be near each other. Contact us for more details. SoundCitizen investigates the connection between land and sea within urban landscapes of Western Washington State and the marine waters of Puget Sound. Currently, we are investigating the types of cooking spices found in our locals waters and using these compounds to determine the connected nature between our kitchens and Puget Sound. We also measure emerging pollutants. We need YOUR help! We can provide you with scientific 'kits'. If you would like to collect samples, please click on the "Request a Kit" link to participate! New 'Spice Girls" Chloe, Amanda and Kelsey SoundCitizen is proud to have recruited three new undergraduate students into the lab. Along with Allison, these young scientists keep your kits coming in the mail and they are currently handling almost all of the sample processing prior to mass spectrometry.
